In the summer of 2012 I decided to use this blog as an outlet for talking about my radio show that I started at WCBN 88.3 fm Ann Arbor! It was my first time being a DJ for a radio station and I was very excited about it! I have a different show now, Super Awesome Music Times with Mary (Tuesdays 1-3pm), and I post my show on here as soon as I can and I talk about it a bit as well. You can see all of the previous shows I've done by clicking the links at the top of the page. "Transformations" was the show I had during winter semester 2013, "Come On, Wake Up Ann Arbor" was my first show in 2012, and I've been rotating host on several different specialty shows as well.
My church experiment (which is pretty much on the back-burner now, but I may still do someday) is I am going to visit all the churches, synagogs, Buddhist temples, etc. that I can find in the downtown Ann Arbor area. I'm going to compare each one including how they do things, how the people are different, and how they make me feel. This is not an attempt to choose a church for myself (I really don't have any desire to do so) or to pass judgement on how different churches or religions do things. It is simply an attempt to make objective observations, get to know different kinds of people, and to have fun doing a social experiment of sorts. Currently I'm thinking of posting just voice recordings of myself talking about my experiences and of me interviewing others. I might also write a bit. If you have any suggestions about how to make this a more fun and interesting experience for myself and you, please let me know!
Radio Experiments!
This week I had a theme of SPACE! Yes, all space-themed music and clips! I was really really excited for this show and had a lot of fun with it! Thank you to my sister, Kathryn, who came up with the idea and contributed some song ideas as well! :D I think it turned out quite well. I did songs in sections where I tried to have related subjects. The last couple songs were a little misplaced with that because I lost track of them along the way, but overall it worked out well. I was also surprised to see how many songs there were about the moon! A lot! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did!
